He had been afflicted with tuberculosis for several years and his death was due to the ravages of that disease. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Thomas and were very impressive. Ira was the last member of the Ed Jacobs family, and besides the grief stricken wife there are none but distant relatives to mourn his demise. He had been a resident of the Five Mile district for several years, having proved up on his homestead just a few weeks since, and though of a retiring disposition was well known in this section.
