W. Martin, occurred at the St. Elizabeth hospital in Baker at 7:30 Tuesday morning, March 12, as a result of complications following an operation for ear trouble performed about three weeks ago. The funeral was held at the West underaking parlows on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Helman, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Martin was born in 1879 at Wallowa, where she resided until about a year when she came to Eagle Valley and kept house for her cousin, Arthur F. Clark until her marriage to Mr. Martin on the 24th of last October. She was a woman of many sterling qualities and her death is deeply regretted by a host of friends in this section. Besides the grief stricken husband there are left to mourn her death, a 7 year-old son by a former marriage, and a large number of relatives in both Baker and Wallowa counties.
