Mason died Monday morning, January, 13th, and was buried the following Thursday. Eagle Valley News; Richland, OR; 30 Jan 1919 Mrs. May Mason, wife of Carl C. Mason, died at Richland on Tuesday, Jan. 14th, 1919. May DeVore was born in the state of Iowa on Dec. 13, 1876. When a small child she came to Washington with her parents and other members of the family and resided there for many years. In 1893 she was married to Carl C. Mason at Glennes, Wash., and in 1907 came to Eagle Valley where she had since resided. She was taken ill with influenza on Tuesday, Jan. 7th; pneumonia developed a few days later, and death came on the 14th inst. She was buried the following Thursday in the Eagle Valley cemetery. She was a dutiful wife, a loving mother, and a woman of many virtues. Besides the husband she leaves four sons: Chester, Harry, Floyd and Alvin, and one daughter, Flo. aged 8 years. She is also survived by her parents and five brothers , all residents of Union county.
