Baker City,Or.,Oct 13-(Special)- I.T.Mayfield, one of the oldest engineers, in 
point of service on the O.R.&N., died athis home in this city this morning of 
typhoid fever.
Mr.mayfield was the unanimous choice of the Democrats for Sherff of this 
county last spring, but he declined to be a candidate after the convention had 
nominated him because it would interfere with his work on the road. he was 
aprominent member of the Knights of Pythias and the Order of Locomotive 
Engineers
