David Samuelsen - March 2002 - not copyrightable ************************************************************************ The Morning Democrat, Baker City, OR; 4 Nov 1906 BAKER COUNTY PIONEER PASSES TO HIS LAST REST Another Baker county pioneer and highly respected citizen, Louis A. Metsker, died in this city yesterday afternoon, November 3, 1906, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Boehmer, at the age of 61 years. The deceased was a well known rancher and stock man, was born December 3, 1845, and came to Baker City 33 years ago. He has always been active in business and square in his dealings and leaves many warm friends to mourn his demise. Surviving Mr. Metsker are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Delia White, Mrs. Minnie Smith, Mrs. Clara Boehmer and Mrs. E. Davis, and sons Sylvester and P. N. Metsker. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock p.m. Monday from the Presbyterian church, the Rev. J. R. N. Bell officating.
