Hearing, 63, died at her home, 2110 Chestnut street, in Baker Saturday night. She had been an eastern Oregon resident for 62 years. Born Laura Bell Pratt in McI[-?-]ansboro, Illinois, September 7, 1879, she came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H. Pratt, to Union in 1891. She lived there for years before going to a farm near Haines. She was married June 23, 1903 to William Hearing, who farmed until 1939 when the couple came to Baker. Mrs. Hearing is survived by her widower, William Hearing; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Pembrook of North Powder; three brothers, George W. Pratt of Haines, James D. Pratt of Baker and Edgar M. Pratt of Weiser, Idaho; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Haines Methodist church. The Baker Funeral Home is in charge. Rev. Harley Zeller will officiate. Interment will be in the Haines cemetery.
