PHILLIPS At an early hour yesterday morning, E. E. Phillips, the well known wagon maker was found dead in bed in his apartments at the rear of Burge Bros' blacksmith shop on Center St. Mr. Phillips was aged 72 years. The day previous to his death he complained of cold and showed symptoms of pneumonia. Friends importuned him to have a physician but he refused, stated that he thought he would soon be well. The deceased had resided in Baker City many years and was one of the best wagon makers in the city. He was more or less interested in mines and devoted some attentio nto the development of his properties. He was well respected and had many friends. Two children, a son and daughter survive him. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock, from the home of Mrs. Mary E. Hyde, corner First and Center streets.
