Thorpe in This City on Sunday. On Sunday morning, Mrs. Susan Winifred Thorpe, died in this city from paralysis at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. L. Turley, on Valley avenue. The deceased was an estimable pioneer lady, a consistent Christian and had been a member of the Methodist church for 60 years. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., February 19, 1833. Crossed the plains to Oregon in 1852, settling with her parents in Linn county. She was a daughte rof Thomas M. Humphreys, deceased. Six children survive her, Sadie, May and Riley and Mrs. S. L. Turley, of this city; mrs. Dell Shrum, of Caldwell, Idaho; James Ray, of Pilot Rock, Oregon. The funeral took place yesteday at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church.
