Canby Herald December 18, 1930
Cheerful greetings were contained in a letter received this week from our 
friend B.S.Prather,now living at Springfield ,Oregon.
Mr.Prather writes: "Dear friend Browne,I am enclosing check to pay my 
subscription to the Herald, as I could not do without it. It is an excellent 
paper."
Mr.Prather writes that himself and son in law, Geo.Dozer, have purchased 20 
acres of land on the river bottoms near Springfield which they are planting to 
fruit,peache and cherries. Mr.Prather is never satisfied without a garden and 
some big watermelons, and he spent the summer cultivating a garden in his new 
home town.
