All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/or/orfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com November 23, 2006, 2:00 pm Canby Herald And Clackamas County News April 24, 1924 Mr and Mrs martin Larson of Canby,Married Fifty Years Ago Tuesday Mr and Mrs martin Larson of Canby celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary,Tuesday,April 22,at the United Lutheran Church of Canby.The church was appropriately decorated for the occasion.Rev H Rogen had charge of the services and a lovely program was rendered by the grand children and friends.The program was as follows: Wedding march,Bernice Sigourney;Duet,Bernice and Dorsi Sigourney;Recitation,Frances Rhuddy;Song,miss Clara Melum;Durt,Dorothy and Lucille Drews;Recitation,Antoinette Drews;Song,Tillie Knutson;Recitation,Helen Rhuddy;Song,Rev and Mrs Rogen;Song,Clara Melum,Mrs Sollie,Berdine,and Eva Knutson.The Rev Rogen read the following brief outline of the life of Mr and Mrs Larson: Martin and Joahanna Larson were married at Black River falls,Wis.,April 22,1874.They made their home at Whitehall,Wisconsin for many years .Fourteen children were born to this union,ten of whom are still living.They are as follows:Ida,who resides in Galeta,Pa;Emma in Butte Mon.;Louie at Vader;Wm and Charles in Seattle,Wash.;Julia,Helen and Theodore in Portland,Ore;Clara in Astoria,Oregon;Nora in Oregon City,and Cora in Canby ,Oregon.There are also twenty two grand children and one great grand child Mr and Mrs Larson came to Oregon in the fall of 1902 and resided in Southern Oregon for one year.they then moved to the Willamette valley and located ona farm 2 1/2 miles east of Aurora.With the exception of seven months residence at vader,Washington,they have made their home in the valley for the past twenty one years After the program a delightful lunch of sandwiches,coffee,ice cream and cake was served. Mr and Mrs Larson received many lovely gifts significant of the occasion. Those present were as follows: Mr and Mrs Charlie Sigourney and family of Portland;mr and Mrs Ernest Drews and family,Mr and Mrs Fred Grindeland and family,Mr and Mrs Clarence Rhuddy and family,of Seattle;Mr and Mrs Clarnece Oathes and family of Astoria;Mr and Mrs Theo H Larson,Mr and Mrs Voctor Olson,Rev and Mrs Rogen,mr and Mrs fred Anderon;Alma Anderson;Mrs henry Ziegler;Mrs Ole Jacobsen;Mrs C.E Rick;mrs J.Hogstrum;Betty Ann Hogstrum;Tillie and Clara Knutson;Clara Melum;mrs Wll Melum and children;Mrs E.T Jenson;mr and Mrs nels melum,mr and Mrs A.L Kleve;mr and Mrs peter Lee,John Furre;P.Sollie;H.E Hanson;Mrs K.O Hills;M.H Johnson;Mr and Mrs O.M.Matheson;Mr and Mrs Siver Olson;Mr and Mrs Math Erickson;A.L.
