Canby Herald December 11, 1930
Sheriff E.T. Mass and three of his deputies arrested Grover Adkins of colton 
and Leo Bayes of Mulino Friday ona  charge of killing heifers belonging to 
Mrs.Virginia Cutting of Moalla. The officers obtained a confession from 
Adkins, and in his possession was found the hide and about half the meat.
The heifer was taken from a pasture and killed Wednesday of last week and the 
loss was discovered Friday morning. The officers made it a short job.
A son of Mrs. Cutting traced the automobile tracks to the Hayes place and Mr. 
Hayes said adkins gave hime the meat, which was found in his house.Later 
aDKINS WAS PICKED UP AND MADE A CONFESSION,ACCORDING TO OFFICERS.
