Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Wm. Gaskell
Funeral services for the late William Gaskell,who died at the Oregon City 
Hospital,Monday,March 10,were held at the Holman&Pace undertaking 
parlors,Oregon City,Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev W.Boyd Moore,pastor of the 
Canby Methodist Church,officiating.
William Gaskell was born in Ohio September 4,1839,moved to Iowa when a small 
boy with his widowed mother,two sisters and one brother where he grew to 
manhood.Was married to Elizabeth Craig in 1863.They came to Oregon in 1872.Mr 
Gaskell was the father of 13 children by first and second marriage.Both wives 
and six children have passed on.Seven children,20 grandchildren and two great 
grandhcildren survive hime.Mr Gaskell was 84 years,6 months and 6 days at the 
time of his passing.He joined the Baptist church when he was a young man.He 
united with the Methodist church more than two years ago and died in the faith.
Mr Gaskell is quite well known in this city having made his home at the M.R 
Pullen residence for some time
