Canby Girl Killed In Auto Accident
Funeral Lutheran Church;Internment at Oakley Hill
Miss Eva Knutson,daughter of Mrs.J.J. Sandsness of this city and former Canby 
high school girl,died at Tacoma Monday from injuries received ina an 
automobile accident at that place a few days previous.Miss Knutson has been 
attending school there.She was well known in this vicinity where she had made 
her home in childhood.
According to information received by Mr.Sandsness from Mrs.Sandsness,Eve had 
been at Bremerton with the Parkland Lutheran Collge Glee Club of which she was 
a member.On their way home after a concert,the car in which she was rididng 
collided with another machine,throwing the occupants 
out.Prof.Elderstrum,president of the college,was driving and also sustained 
innjuries which confined him to the hospital.The accident occured Saturday 
night and Miss KNutson passed away the next morning shortly after her mother 
reached there.
A few years ago a brother of Miss Knutson was killed on he highway between 
Canby and Needy and last summer another brother was injured in an automobile 
accident near Twilight station.He recovered after several weeks of intense 
suffering.
Mrs.Sandsness left immediately for Tacoma upon receipt of a telegram which 
converyed the sad news to relative and friends in Canby.
The body was shipped to Portland Monday afternoon,arriving last 
night,accompanied by the bereaved mother.Services willbe held iin that city.
(Thursday) forenoon and the funeral will take place this afternoon in the 
Lutheran Church ini Canby.Rev.Troubel of Portland officiating.Internment will 
be in Oakley Hill cemetary where her father,sister and brother are buried
