Pioneer Resident of Canby Passes Away
Oscar W.Sturgis,a resident of this community for the past thirty years,died 
here Monday evening.Mr.Sturgis was bornin Illinois January 2,1840.He is 
survived by his wife,Frances Sturgis,a son,Chas. Sturgis,and a 
daughter,Mrs.Bertha McFarland,all of Canby,and a half sister,Mrs Emily 
Riley,of Susanville,Calfornia.
The funeral was held at the family home yesterday afternoon and internemnt was 
made in Zion cemetary.
