Astoria, Oregon Friday Morning . . . . . Apr. 28, 1882. The new United States census gives 92,653 Protestant churches, 71,662 Protestant ministers and 9,003,030 members of Protestant churches. The entire population of the United States was 52,152,866. Deduct from this 6,174,202 Roman Catholics and 114,283 Mormons, and we have a remaining population of 43,864,381. This gives one church for 437 persons. One minister for every 612 people, and one professing Protestant for every five of the population. * * * * * WAR! WAR! WAR! Prince Henry was raised by Wm. Chalmers, of Washington county; was four years on the 20th day of March; is a dark bay, 16 1/2 hands high, and in good condition; weighs 1400 pounds. He was sired by Maj. Bruce's Clydsdale, "Centennial;" his dam. By Phillipps' "Henry" Centennial was awarded the first premium for draft horses at the centennial exhibition. TERMS: Ten dollars for the season, payable at the end of season, with privilege of repeating another season if mares prove not to be with foal.
