The assertion was made than she was seen by two persons to jump into the river, and later, a large reward was offered for the recovery of her body. Searching parties were organized and the river in the vicinity was dragged for days, but without success. Toadya letter was received stating that the woman isnot only alove and well, but has since married and is liing with her husband in Wyoming. No explanation is given as to hwo or why she left Astoria.
