Morning Oregonian September 11, 1904
Astoria,Or.,Sept.10-(Special)- Jesse N.Saylor and Jay N.Saylor,brothers.were 
arrested a few days ago for stealing a diamond from dr.Linton,were arraigned 
in the Justice Court this morning on informations charging them with larceny 
from the person.They waived examination and were committed to the County Jail 
in default of $500 bonds,each to await the action of the Circuit Court.
A simiar charge that had been filed against H.D.Banie was withdrawn and he was 
released under $100 cash bail to appear as a witness against the other two.Ed 
Hardy,another man who is alleged to have seen the theft,was committed to jail 
in default of $100 bonds to appear as a witness.
