Morning Oregonian August 3, 1904
Astoria,Or.,Aug 2.(Special)- The first hold up which Astoria has had for many 
months occurred about 1 o'clock this morning.Lars Larson,a saloon keeper,was 
going to his home on the hill when a masked man stepped in front of him and 
shoving a revolver in his face,commanded him to throw up his hands.The thug 
took $8 in change and a gold watch.
