Her death followed a long illness resulting from injuries suffered in an accident in the passenger elevator at her home several months ago. Mrs. Elmore was born at Hillsdale, Mich., on October 28, 1846. She came to the Pacific coast via the isthmus of Panama when 7 years of age with her parents, the late Morgan S. and Catharine Hurd. The family settled in Sacramento, Cal., Where she was married to Samuel Elmore in March, 1876. Mrs. Elmore came to Astoria with her husband in 1881 and had resided here since that time. Mrs. Elmore is survived by three daughters - Mrs. F.H. Haradon, Astoria; Mrs. Louis Schriber, Oshkosh, Wis., and Mrs. Theodore S. Childs, Riverside, Cal. The funeral will be held from the family home here on Saturday afternoon. The body will be taken to Portland for cremation.
