Hawkins, as receiver of the Coquille Lumber Co., have reached the point where it only remains for confirmation by the court, to insure that the old Johnson Mill, shut down since last November, will be operated for the next few months at least. Full details of the operation cannot be announced until the arrangements have been finally agreed to, but according to tentative plans, about a million board feet will be cut in August, and half that much more in September and October, the operations being on cedar. From 25 to 30 men will be required at the mill, if the plans go through, and although the wages will be small, it will provide employment for men who would otherwise be idle. Asked if he would furnish steam for heat this winter, if the plant is operated, Mr. Hawkins said he would. Good news, Coquille.
