Mrs. Cora Bolt, wife of Judge G. N. Bolt, died Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 
at her home on South Second street in Marshfield following a year of ill 
health and in the past few months a great sufferer. 
On October 16, 1940, Mr. and Mrs. Bolt celebrated their golden wedding 
anniversary. The couple had been residents of Marshfield since 1904, a period 
of 38 years. They came from Gold Hill in southern Oregon, and for many years 
Mr. Bolt conducted a dry-goods business, first on Front street and thereafter 
on Central avenue. 
They had two children, Eric and Edward, the former having graduated from 
college and taken up a life work of teaching. He was principal of a school in 
central Oregon when the World war broke out, enlisted but died in an army camp 
in the United States of flu before getting into service abroad. Edward 
operates a tourist camp and service station on the Pacific highway in Southern 
Oregon. 
Mrs. Bolt was an active member of the Methodist church and a constant worker 
in the Aid society of the institution. 
Mr. Bolt in the past few years has been a justice of the peace with office in 
the Marshfield city hall. During her illness and last days Mrs. Bolt was a 
constant care and at times had two nurses to serve in keeping her comfortable. 
Mr. Bolt also contributed care and saw that she received the best of 
treatment. 
The funeral will be held at Thuerwachter’s Saturday afternoon at two o’clock.
