Donald August Rolund 
August 15, 1921 – October 5, 2009 

  Funeral Services for Donald August Rolund, 88, of Myrtle Point, will be held 
at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Coquille Seventh Day Adventist 
Church, 1051 N. Cedar Point Road. Pastor Jose R. Agosto will officiate. Burial 
with Military Honors will follow at Norway Cemetery. Donald was born on August 
15, 1921 at the family homestead at Gravelford to Karl and Ida (Hamerloff) 
Rolund. He died October 5, 2009 in Coquille. Donald attended Myrtle Point High 
School. He served his country during WWII as a first officer in the Merchant 
Marines. He married Wyonell Hendon on July 5, 1977 in Reno. 
  Donald was a timber faller and a home builder for many years. He served as 
president of the Coos County Home Builders Association for 6 years and also 
President of the Coos Bay Chapter of Merchant Marines for 8 years. He also was 
a 30+ year member of the Powers Lions Club. Donald is survived by his wife, 
Wyonell; son, Victor Rolund of Portland; stepson, Chuch Hendon and his wife 
Prudy of Eagle River, AK; stepdaughter, LeaAnna St. Pierre and her husband 
Glenn of Honolulu, HI; stepdaughter, Mabry DeLong of Myrtle Point; 
stepdaughter, Dierre Davis and her husband Rod of Eagle River, AK; he also has 
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial 
contributions to the Powers Lions Club, P.O. Box 518, Powers, OR 97466. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Amling/Schroeder Funeral Service – 
Myrtle Point Chapel, 572-2524.
