The Oregonian April 24, 1893
Little Ada Keyton, who was secreted from the officers of the Boys and Girls 
Aid Society by her father, after having been turned over to the custody fo 
that institution by the County Judge of Douglas County, was found by Assistant 
Superintendent McKernan at Kalama, and brought back to the home last night. 
Sheriff Watson, of Cowlitz County, behaved very courteously to the society's 
officer. Suerpintendent Gardner says he wishes it distinctly understood by 
parents who have had their children legally taken from them for a cause, that 
he will always do his upmost to keep them, and any attempt on the part of bad 
parents or gaurdians to obtain possession of them by stealth, will be promptly 
frustrated, while at all times parents who behave themselves properly will 
receive every consideration at his hands.
