Lewis Roseburg, Or., Oct. 3 There was held here today the funeral of Morton La Fayette Lewis, a pioneer of California and Oregon, and who had resided in this city for 25 years previous to his death on October 1. He was 75 years of age, and his death resulted from a stroke of paralysis, which occurred about ten days ago. Mr. Lewis was a native of Illinois, coming to Yreka, Cal., in 1853, and to Douglas County, Oregon, in 1880. He married Miss Mary F. Richards, of this county, in 1859, and she, with their four children, survive him. The latter are: C.P. and L.L. Lewis, Mrs. T.B. Cannon and Miss Susie Lewis, all residents of Roseburg.
