J. Monroe From the Roseburg (Ore.) Review comes the news that I. J. Monroe, who is well known by all of the old settlers of this valley, died at his home on Roberts Creek, Oregon, on May 31st of this year. The deceased was aged 64 years and came to Watsonville in the early sixties and to Salinas a short time later, making his home near Blanco until thirteen years ago when he moved to Oregon, where he made his home until the final summons came. The deceased leaves three sons and three daughters: E. W., J. T. and J. A. Monroe, and Mrs. J. J. Whitsett of the Umqua valley, Mrs. D.
