Sept. 3 For the fourth time in two weeks death has claimed a pioneer of Douglas County. Mrs. Moses Parrott, of this city, died yesterday, aged 73 years. She came to Oregon from Missouri in 1852. Her maiden name was Tennessee Howard. She is survived by her aged husband, one brother, two sons, and six daughters. The latter are: Ex-sheriff E.L. Parrott, of Douglas County; Charles W. Parrott, Mrs. N.T. Jewett, Misses Elizabeth and Rosa B. Parrott, the two latter being teachers in the Roseburg public schools; Mrs. B. Casey, of Dallas, Or.; Miss Abbie Parrott, clerk in the United States Land Office at Tucson, Ariz.; Miss Josephine Parrott of Seattle.
