A Valade, lifelong resident of Grant County, who passed away Tuesday morning at the Grant County Hospital in Prairie City, were held in John Day, Thursday afternoon from the Driskill Memorial Chapel, conducted by Rev. Earnest Brown with Alex Harper Unit 115, American Legion Auxiliary of Dayville assisting. Internment was in the Canyon City Cemetery. Although Mrs. Valade had been in failing health for the past few years, her death came as a sudden shock to the family as she had been feeling quite until just a few days before her death. Molly Belle Glover was born on the 27th Day of March, 1881, in Carroll County, Missouri. At the age of six years she came with her parents, J.C. and Margaret Glover to Dayville, Oregon where they lived for a short time, later settling near Antone, Oregon. On Thanksgiving Day in 1896 she was united in marriage to Carlos A. Valade. To this union were born six children, all of whom survive the mother. Mrs. Valade leaves to mourn her passing her husband, four sons: Earl C. Valade of Dayville, Darrell E. of La Grande, Ralph E. of Dayville; two daughters, Georgia May Mason of John Day and Edna Belle Blaser of Richfield, California, also one brother, George Glover of Antone and nine grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends. All members of her family were here for her funeral. At the time of her decease she was a member of the Alex Harper Unit 115, American Legion Auxiliary at Dayville.
