SMITH James G. Smith, 75 years old, died suddenly at his home on East Main street, at 11 o'clock Saturday of acute indigestion. He was well known in the city, and had lived 12 years in the valley. The final illness was less than an hour in duration. No known relatives survive, and funeral arrangements will be made when friends in Philadelphia are heard from. SMITH--Allan Smith, aged 77, of the Orchard Home tract, died September 8 at the home of his son at Newport, Or., where he had gone to spend the summer. He had lived near Medford for thirteen years following fruit growing, and was a native of Canada and entered the lumber business at Detroit shortly after attaining his majority. He laves one son, W. J. Smith, of Newport. His body was taken to Michigan for interment by the side of his wife. He was widely known and highly respected and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his departure.
