Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 17 May 1902, Central Point News, p. 3, c. 3-4 
The many friends of Mrs. S. S. Aiken, of Prospect, will be grieved to learn of 
her death, which occurred on Monday while she was en route to Central Point to 
consult a physician. Her husband had started with her on a bed, in a spring 
wagon, but she died at the Hull farm, on Rogue river. Mrs. Aiken was a very 
estimable woman, a kind and affectionate wife and mother. She leaves a husband 
and four children, besides a host of friends, to mourn her loss. The bereaved 
family has the heartfelt sympathy of all in this their sad hour of trouble.
