He had apparently become ill on the job, and when he failed to arrive home by 3:00 a.m. his son-in-law, E. W. Kessler, went to the hotel. Mr. Antle was found in the front seat of his automobile parked back of the hotel. Born at Atchison, Kas., on April 26, 1884, Mr. Antle spent all of his early left in that state and came to Medford in 1909. He later met and was married to Miss Edythe M. Osenbrugge at Jacksonville in 1912. They have made their home here continuously since that time. Mr. Antle was at one time in the electric business here, and for several years owned and operated the Smokehouse bowling alleys on East Main street. He was a great lover of all kinds of sports and in his youth was a very fine baseball player. He was known by hundreds of friends as "Walt," and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. E. E. [sic] Kessler of Medford; one brother, R. F. Antle of Medford, and two grandchildren, Sandra Jane and Jerry Leylan Kessler. Funeral services will be conducted by Father Herald Gardner of Saint Mark's Episcopal at the Perl Funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Final rites will be held in Grant's Pass. Friends are asked not to send flowers.
