Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 20 July 1900, Jacksonville News, p. 3, c. 2 
Bernice Armstrong, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Armstrong, died at 
the home of her parents, near Jacksonville, Monday, July 16, 1900, of typhoid 
fever, aged about 12 years. The little girl had been sick about 30 days before 
the final summons came. She was an exceptionally pleasant and dutiful child, 
and everything was done for her that loving hearts and willing hands could do. 
The remains were buried in Jacksonville Cemetery, Tuesday at 4 o’clock.
