He was a native of Texas, born January 9, 1859. He was a promoter and salesman, has been a resident of Ashland for some time, and of the state for the past eight years. He leaves a wife, Alice and one son, Gordon Willard. Funeral services will be held at the Perl Funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m., Thomas Hill of Ashland officiating. Interment in Medford cemetery. STICKEL -- Walter H. Stickel, a brief notice of whose death appeared in a former issue of this paper, was born at Creston, Ia., June 18, 1866. Died at his home in Gold Hill, January 14, 1927. Aged 60 years. Mr. Stickel was married at Oakland, Oregon in 1892 to Minnie L. Knarr and five years later they moved to Gold Hill, where they have since resided and enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Walter Stickel was a prominent active member of every branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and his loss will be greatly felt within those circles. He leaves besides his bereaved wife, one daughter, Mrs. W. G. Davis of Gold Hill, two grandchildren, Maxwell and June. Also two brothers, Joe E. Stickel and Con D., the latter of Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., at the I. O. O. F. hall in Gold Hill. Rev. E. P. Lawrence officiated at the hall and the I. O. O. F. order at the grave in Rock Point cemetery. Conger funeral parlors in charge.
