Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 27 Apr 1900, Gold Hill Items, p. 3, c. 2-3
Died–Saturday morning, April 21, 1900, Dr. Jno. Blackburn, aged sixty-one 
years. His remains was [sic] interred in the I. O. O. F. cemetery under the 
auspices of the I. O. O. F. lodge of this place. Dr. Blackburn was a late 
arrival from Missouri with his wife and two grown daughters.
