Peter Britt

Medford, Or., Oct. 3
Peter Britt, aged 86 years and 7 months, a pioneer of 1851, died at his home 
in Jacksonville, Or., this morning at 9 o’clock. He had been a resident of 
Jackson County for over 50 years, and during that time had amassed a 
considerable fortune, which he leaves entirely to his heirs. His death is 
attributed to the fatigues of the journey he made to Portland and the Fair 
last week. He returned last Sunday with a severe cold, which developed into 
pneumonia from which death resulted Tuesday morning.
