Brittsan was born in Ohio, November 29, 1849 and died at his home, 16 Park Place, April 10, 1922, aged 72 years, 4 months, 11 days. From his native state he moved to Missouri in 1876, where he remained until 1906, when he came to Oregon, where he has been a continuous resident of Jackson county. He was converted in Ohio 52 years ago and has lived a Christian life. After coming to Oregon he united with the Free Methodist church and for several years has been a local minister of that church. His greatest aim in his work was to get men and women to come to God and be saved from sin. When the call came he was ready to go, so we do not mourn as those who have no hope, for we know our loss is his gain. Although we feel our loss, we feel and know, though the body lies here, the soul is safe in Heaven. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Addie L. Brittsan, and six children, all of whom are loving, three boys and three girls, Mr. Howard T. Brittsan, Braymer, Mo.; V. E. and J. A. Brittsan of Eagle Point, Ore.; Mrs. J. H. Baxter of Medford; Mrs. T. B. McClelland, Medford; Mrs. R. M. Martin, Medford, and one brother, T. W. Brittsan, of Rogue River, Oregon, and a host of friends to mourn. The funeral service was conducted by the Weeks-Conger company at the free Methodist church, Reverend Sharp of the Free Methodist church officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
