W. (Tobe) Brous, who was superintendent of the prison farm at Salem, and was formerly a resident of Medford, passed away Wednesday night at the Deaconess hospital in Portland, following a short illness. A native of Iowa, where he was born September 18, 1880, he came to Oregon with his family as a boy. He was reared in Medford, where he made his home for many years. Funeral services are to be conducted at the Perl Funeral home in Medford at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Reverend E. S. Bartlam of St. Mark's Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mr. Brous is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. G. Goble of Yreka, Cal., and Mrs. E. D. Weston of Portland.
