Chesney passed away at his home, 748 West 4th, early Friday morning at the age of 62. He was born in Brownsville, Ore., November 15, 1889. He went to work for the Southern Pacific Company when about 19 years of age, as a carpenter. In a short time he was promoted to foreman and a few years later was made bridge and building supervisor. He had had this position until his retirement October 17, 1938. On November 30, 1906, he was united in marriage to Marie Demmer, of Medford, in Albany, Oregon. They made their home in Portland from 1917 to 1937. Since then, he had resided in Medford. Besides his wife he leaves two children, June Marie Chesney, Medford, and Edward B. Chesney, U. S. air force, Gardner Field California. There are also three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Flora Fisher and Mrs. Anna L. Crouch, San Diego, Mrs. Lillie M. Conklin, Medford and H. E. Chesney, Portland. Time of the service will be announced by the Conger-Morris chapel in Sunday's paper.
