Mattie L. Merriman of San Francisco, well known in Medford, where she resided 
for many years, died last night at the home of her sister, Mrs. May Telfer, in 
the bay city, it was learned here by relatives. Miss Merriman’s fine 
disposition won her many friends in this section, who will be sorry to learn 
of her passing.
Miss Merriman was born in Medford on March 25, 1892, the daughter of George F. 
and Mary E. Merriman, now deceased. She was also a sister of Tom Merriman, who 
died last year.
She was employed at Mann’s Department store for a number of years, and had 
been ill for the past 15 years. 
Surviving her are Mrs. Blanche Miles and Mrs. May Telfer, sisters, both of San 
Francisco, and Mrs. Vera Plymale of Medford, also a sister; Merle and Francis 
Merriman of Medford, nephews; Tharon C. Merriman of Red Lodge, Mont., a 
brother, and George W. Merriman of Orange, Cal., also a brother. She had two 
nieces, Mary Jo Plymale and Mary Elizabeth Merriman and another nephew, Ben 
Telfer Plymale of Medford.
Funeral services are to be conducted in San Francisco Thursday, and the body 
is to be cremated.
