B., Medford (Oregon) Mail Tribune, Tuesday, 22 Dec 1914, p. 4: Dr. D. B. Newman died at his home in Ocean Park, Wash., December 13, aged 73 years. Born at Cuba, N. Y., August 28, 1841, he moved to Ohio in boyhood and at the outbreak of the Civil war enlisted in Company I, Nineteenth regiment, O.V.M. After his discharge he moved to Wisconsin where he married Laura E. Ellis. He re-enlisted in Third Wisconsin cavalry. He practised as a physician and surgeon for 21 years in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Dakota and Iowa until 1901 when he removed to Portland. In 1911 he moved to Ocean Park. His first wife died in 1881, and in 1890 he married Huldah Krueger at Fargo, N.D., and is survived by her and three sons and a daughter. David L. Newman of [ ? ]dual Dam, Minn.; E. E.
