Obenchain, 68, native son of Jackson county, died at the home of his half-sister, Mrs. C. H. Dunlap, in Ashland early this morning after an illness of the past 14 months. Mr. Obenchain was born at Butte Falls on June 30, 1871. He spent his entire life in southern Oregon and gained his education here. He had been a resident of Ashland for the past eight months. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ross Wilson of Klamath Falls, five half- sisters, Mrs. C. H. Dunlap of Ashland, Mrs. Will Chambers of Butte Falls, Mrs. Lou Phillips and Mrs. Bertha LaPorte of St. Helens and Mrs. Frances Yore of Seattle, Wash.; a half-brother, Charles Obenchain of Portland, nine nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Perl chapel Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. S. L. Divine officiating. Interment will be in the Jacksonville cemetery.
