Aged 90 years, 4 months, 6 days. Born at Coatsville, Erie county, Pennsylvania, February 16, 1830. Nancy Morse married Bartlett Obenchain in Independence county, Iowa, and they immigrated by mule teams across the plains in 1861, and spent the winter in Marysville, California, and came to Oregon in 1862 where she has resided for the past sixty-four years. Had she lived until today, she would have celebrated her 76th wedding anniversary. She was one of the first women to organize a Sunday school in Central Point. She also was a life-long member of the Methodist church. She was the mother of 12 children, six sons and six daughters, four of whom survive her today, one daughter and three sons. Mrs. Ed Hensal, Stockton, Calif., Morse M., and Silas Obenchain of Klamath Falls, Ore., and George E. of Central Point. Also 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the residence, Friday at 1:30, Rev. P. M. Belknap officiating. Interment in Jacksonville cemetery. The Perl Funeral Home has charge of funeral arrangements.
