He was born in Jacksonville, Sept. 11, 1877. He served his country as a musician with the 2nd Oregon Volunteers during the Spanish-American war. Surviving are two brothers and one sister, John M. Oliver, Springfield, Ore.; Duke Oliver, Senora, Calif., and Mrs. Rena Zimmer, Eugene. Services will be in the Conger-Morris chapel Tuesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. W. A. Dawes officiating. Interment will be in Jacksonville cemetery.
