ORTH TODAY Cordelia Ruth Orth, wife of John S. Orth, and mother of Mrs. Harvey Robertson, and Miss Dorothy Orth, all of this city, passed away at the family residence, 1009 South Oakdale, Friday at noon, from a lingering illness covering the past six months. Mrs. Orth is one of Oregon's pioneers, and a native daughter, having been born in Marion county November 27, 1869. She spent her early life in Marion county, and where she gained her education, spending some time at Eugene, Ore., where she attended the University of Oregon, and later graduated from Monmouth Normal school at Monmouth, Ore. Upon graduation, she accepted a teaching position at Jacksonville, and some years later, in April, 1903, she was united in marriage to John S. Orth at Eugene. They immediately came to Jacksonville to make their home. She was a wonderful Christian character, a beloved wife and mother and will be missed by her host of friends. Besides her husband and two daughters, she leaves four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Cora B. Crump and Miss Gladys Ankeny of Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Nanie Cantrall of Klamath Falls, Mrs. A. H. Miller of Medford, Frank Ankeny of Klamath Falls. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in the Jacksonville cemetery Sunday afternoon (today) at 2:30. The funeral cortege will leave the Perl Funeral home shortly after 2:00 o'clock. (Friends desiring to pay their last respects to Mrs. Orth may call at the Perl Funeral home this morning between the hours of 10 to 12.)
