Died--At Buncom, February 10, 1897, of typhoid fever, Miss Ethel Parks, aged 21 years. Interred at Sterling cemetery February 11, 1897, Rev. J. M. Shulse officiating. Dear Ethel was called from her loving friends Wednesday morning after a lingering illness of five weeks, before which time she knew naught of sickness, being a strong hearty girl, and the life and light of all who surrounded her. She will ever be remembered by those dearest to her as a tender, clinging vine interwoven in sweet memories from the hour the angel first gave her to her home, a gentle spirit of light that flitted in and out like a gleam of sunshine. No one can fill her place in the vacant chair. No one will ever take her place in our hearts. It will be a sacred thought in all the years to come, to parents and friends, that she shed radiance in her home as long as she did. It will be a blessed recollection that she grew up to love and be loved by those who will ever cherish her memory so tenderly. As in nature nothing dies her short life here was but the budding of a life beyond. Her merry voice is stilled and no more do we hear her footsteps, but it is only for a short time, for she stands waiting to welcome the loved ones on the other shore.
