Pence, 51, Taken By Death -- John Thomas Pence, 51, passed away yesterday morning at the home of his sister, Miss Sadie Pence, 20 W. Jackson boulevard, after an illness of 2-1/2 months. Mr. Pence, an employee of the state highway commission, traveled to all parts of the state in his work, but made his home in Medford with his sister. He was born in 1892 in Williams, Ore. Funeral services will be held at the Hull Funeral Home in Grant's Pass at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and interment will be in Granite Hill cemetery at Grant's Pass. Survivors include his children, Lewis Pence of Monterey, Calif., Miss Margaret Pence of Medford, Mrs. Donald Leming of Portland, and Miss Elaine Pence of Portland; one grandchild, Donald Benjamin Leming of Portland; several brothers and sisters, Miss Sadie Pence of Medford, Charlie Pence of Williams, Ore., Mrs. A. I. Hussey of Grant's Pass, Mrs. H. D. Sturgeon of Portland, Miss Lida Pence of Williams, Ore., Ray Pence of Medford, and Mrs. O. O. Morton of Medford.
