H. Peninger, of Willow Springs precinct, died at the family residence, Thursday, Feb. 22, 1900, of pneumonia, after a short illness, aged 40 years and 23 days. Mrs. Peninger was born in Prussia, Germany, and came with her parents to St. Louis, where the family lived for a time, and from whence they removed to Oregon in 1867 and took up their residence at Phoenix. She was united in marriage to Wm. H. Peninger some years since by whom she had three children who, with her husband, survive her. The remains were laid to rest in Jacksonville cemetery, Saturday, at 1 o'clock, Rev. S. H. Jones officiating. A large number of friends and acquaintances were present to witness the last sad rites.
