Rogue R. Grieves Over Death of Grandma Sanborn

Mrs. Catherine Sanborn, known to all Rogue River as "Grandma
Sanborn," passed away Sunday, April 5th at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Ida Thrasher of Jacksonville, aged 81 years 7
months and 21 days. Mrs. Sanborn was a native of New York state
where she was born August 13, 1844. She has made her home in
Rogue River for about 22 years when she went to live with her
daughter. In the passing of Grandma Sanborn, Rogue River loses
one of its oldest and beloved citizens and she will be greatly
missed by her host of friends. The funeral was held at the Hope
Presbyterian church Tuesday forenoon, Rev. Wm. Lee Gray
officiating. Interment was in the Rogue River cemetery.
