One of his legs was broken, and he was badly bruised on the head and chest, causing the internal injuries which resulted in his death. He was taken to Grants Pass on a special train immediately after the accident and his wife and father were summoned to his bedside, arriving there a short time before his death. His remains were brought to Phoenix and interred in the Phoenix cemetery Monday afternoon, Rev. W. B. Moore officiating. Mr. Short was a young man, twenty-eight years of age, and was highly respected. He was married in this city last August to Miss Minnie Nusbaum, by Rev. Moore, who just five months and sixteen days later officiated at his funeral. His sudden death was a great shock to his wife and she has the sympathy of many friends and acquaintances in her sorrow. She left for Glendale Wednesday evening for a few weeks’ visit with her sister, Mrs. Stidham, who resides at that place.
