Medford (Oregon) Mail, Friday, 21 Apr 1899, p. 3, c. 1 
Died–On Saturday, April 15, [18]99, William, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene 
Stowell, aged 14 years. The boy has been afflicted most of his life with a 
scrofulous disease and preparations were made to amputate his leg but his case 
was so hopeless that the doctors decided not to perform the operation. The 
remains were interred in the Central Point cemetery on Sunday.
