TRYON TAKEN BY DEATH Joseph J. Tryon, prominent resident of Talent for the last 15 years, passed away in a local hospital late Thursday evening at the age of 67. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, July 14, 1874, he came to Oregon at the age of 14 and was married, at Albany, in 1897 to Lena Curl and has been engaged in the mercantile business since that time. Mr. and Mrs. Tryon came here from Portland where he sold out his store and engaged in a general mercantile business at Talent where he was prominent in civic affairs. Mr. Tryon was a member of the Presbyterian church at Albany, and of the Macabee lodge there. Besides his wife, he leaves one sister, Mary Porter of Portland. The remains are at the Conger chapel and will be forwarded to Portland where services and interment will take place.
